When the Leak Gopher Meter Reader detects a sudden increase in water usage, the Z-Wave Controller can be programmed to tell a companion Leak Gopher Z-Wave Valve Control to automatically turn the water off, protecting your home or business. The Z-Wave Meter Reader is Z-Wave Plus certified to support the latest Z-Wave Controller capabilities.
The Leak Gopher Z-Wave Meter Reader attaches to a water meter with a switch closure (pulse output) output. The Leak Gopher Z-Wave Meter Reader counts the switch closures (pulses). Each switch closure will equate to a quantity of water defined as the meters “resolution”. Leak Intelligence offers a ¾” water meter with one-gallon resolution and a 1” meter with ten-gallon resolution. This means the Leak Gopher Z-Wave Meter Reader will count gallons with the ¾” meter and tens of gallons with the 1” meter.
The Leak Gopher Z-Wave Meter Reader’s Z-Wave interface can be programmed to report the consumption to the Z-Wave controller based on time or consumption. Using this information, the user can define what they consider reasonable consumption or unusual consumption and program their Z-Wave controller to take appropriate action i.e. turn off the Leak Gopher Z-Wave Valve Control, send an email, etc.

The Series 1000 Alarm Panel Valve Controller has connection terminals that allow the Leak Gopher valve to be controlled by contact closures from a conventional security system. If your security system has water sensors, simply program the system to close a normally open contact when a water sensor gets wet and connect that contact to terminals on the Leak Gopher. When the contact closes the water will be turned off. You can use another set of terminals to open the valve if you choose. There is also a set of terminals to power the Leak Gopher from the 12VDC power supply in the alarm panel or you can power it using the included 12-volt power adapter.

The Series 2000 Water Heater Leak Detector - Valve Controller is an all in one device. It includes a Water Sensor and an Electronic Water Valve. In the event of a leak, the Series 2000 Water Heater Leak Detector - Valve Controller will detect the leak, sound an audible alarm, and automatically shut off the water.
The Series 2000 Water Heater Leak Detector - Valve Controller has buttons on the front of the device to manually control the valve. It also has a button to stop the audible alarm allowing you to repair the leak and dry out the water sensor before turning the water back on.
The Series 2000 Water Heater Leak Detector - Valve Controller is available in two models:
- Battery Powered - Powered by a standard 9-volt battery, it can also can be powered using the included 3.6-volt power adapter. If the Leak Gopher is being powered by the 3.6-volt power adapter and the 9-volt battery is installed, the battery serves as a battery backup. The Battery Powered Leak Gopher can operate a ½” & ¾” 3.6-volt valves.

Series 4000 Wireless Valve Controller
The Series 4000 Wireless Valve Controller allows you to install a valve in one location and Leak Detectors in other locations. If any of the Leak Detectors get we, the valve is turned off automatically.
The Series 4000 Wireless Valve Controller has a radio receiver built in that can receive transmissions from Leak Gopher Series 4000 Wireless Leak Detectors.
The Series 4000 Wireless Valve Controller is available in two models:
- Battery Powered - This Leak Gopher can be powered using a 9-volt battery. It can also be powered by the included 5-volt power adapter. If the Leak Gopher is being powered by the 5-volt power adapter, and the 9-volt battery is installed, the battery serves as a battery backup. The Battery Powered Leak Gopher can operate a ½”, ¾” valves.
- 12-Volt - There is a 12V version for 1”, 1 ¼”, 1 ½” and 2” valves. The 12V Leak Gopher does not have battery backup.
The Series 4000 Valve Controller has buttons on the front of the device to manually control the valve. You can also control the valve from any Series 4000 Wireless Leak Detector.
Series 4000 Wireless Leak Detector
The Series 4000 Wireless Leak Detector is installed wherever you are concerned about water leaks. When the Series 4000 Wireless Leak Detector water sensor gets wet, it transmits a radio signal that is received by the Series 4000 Wireless Valve Controller that turns the water off.
The Series 4000 Wireless Leak Detector is available in two models:
- Wall Mount – The Series 4000 Wall Mount Wireless Leak Detector is designed to hang on the wall and comes with an external water sensor with a 2-meter wire to connect it to the Leak Gopher. The leak detector can be placed on the floor or wherever you want to detect water. Extension wires are available, so you can put the leak detector anywhere. You can use standard telephone wires and splitters to have multiple water sensors attached to one Leak Gopher.
- Low Profile – The Series 4000 Low Profile Wireless Leak Detector is designed to be placed directly on the floor and has gold water sensing pins on the bottom of the device.
Both the Wall Mount and the Low-Profile Series 4000 Wireless Leak Detectors are powered by a 9-volt battery (included). It also can be powered by a 5-volt power adaptor (included). If it is being powered by the 5-volt power adapter, and the 9-volt battery is installed, the battery serves as a battery backup.
Both Series 4000 Wireless Leak Detectors have on and off buttons to control the valve attached to the Wireless Valve Control manually. There is also a silence button to allow the audible alarm to be silenced while the water leak is being repaired. After the leak is repaired the water can be turned back on.

The Series 4000 Low Profile Leak Detector – Valve Controller is a special Leak Gopher made to solve a specific problem. Some properties do not have segregated water lines. The plumbing is in stacks and each point of use is served by a shared water line that passes from floor to floor. This is quite common in urban area condominiums, apartments, etc.

If you have subscribed to the Leak Intelligence Notification Service and one of your Series 4000 Wireless Leak Gopher Leak Detectors gets wet, you will be notified by text or email of the event and which of your Leak Gophers is reporting that it is wet. You can add up to 5 people to the list be notified when a leak occurs.
Leak Intelligence Notification Service is available for 1 year, 3 years, or 5 years and can be renewed for the life of the device.
